SUMMER

WINTER

Fall in love

with Rauris

The summer offer of Rauri nature is endless. There are many marked hiking trails of varying difficulty. You can go to the ridge at an altitude of 2500 m, observe the raptors in the Valley of the Vultures or take a walk with the pram in the valley of the Rauriser Ache. You can also just take the cable car and enjoy the breathtaking views or refresh yourself in the mountain lake.

You can also explore the surroundings on a bicycle or e-bike, which can be rented at one of the local rental shops. You can play tennis or mini golf or spend the day at the swimming pool with the most beautiful view. The more daring can go rafting in nearby Taxenbach.

If you feel like it, you can easily drive to attractive places in the vicinity (Zell am See, Kaprun, Bad Gastein) or to the legendary Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse.

Cycling

Do you like to ride a bike? An easy route along the Rauriser Ache river leads through the Rauri valley. At its end (approx. 15 km) you can have refreshments at the Bodenhaus restaurant. Fit cyclists or electric cyclists can continue to the Kolm Saigurn plateau (less than 5 km, gradient 8%).

Another very nice route is located in the Seidlwinkl valley. Lovers of road cycling and longer routes can go through the Salzach river valley or elsewhere in the surrounding area. You can also rent a bike in Rauris at Sport Egger or Intersport Pirchner.

Hiking

The Raurisertal offers 295 km of marked hiking trails and a further 70 km of trails in Taxenbach, making it one of the largest and most diverse areas in the Hohe Tauern National Park. Popular are the ascents to one of the peaks in the Kolm Saigurn area (Bockhart, Silverpenning), the ridge hike that you can go on from the end station of the Hochalmbahn cable car, the Seidlwinkl valley, Krumltal - the Valley of the Vultures, then in Taxenbach we recommend a visit to the Kitzlochklamm gorge.

Jogging

Running in the Alps is really fresh air. Rauris and its surroundings offer many hiking and jogging trails. For example, a pleasant route leads along the Rauriser Ache from Bucheben to the end of the valley. If you need advice or direction, we recommend the Komoot or Strava application.

Rafting

If you like adrenaline sports, you can try rafting on the river Salza. The closest is the Rafting center Taxenbach, approx. 10 minutes by car. In addition to rafting, the agency also offers canyoning. More information can be found here: http://www.raftingcenter.com.
